Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

Default Wanting to turkey hunt

I would like to start turkey hunting. But first i would like to educate myself. Besides here what reading material is good. I would like a book that focuses on the begininning turkey hunter that touches on anatomy, lingo, behavior then the aspects of finding and harvesting birds. Any info would be great.

i would try the nwtf website maybe. I'm not positive but i would imagine they will have some sort of literature on their site, or books for purchase. But the most effective way (if available) is to find someone familiar with hunting turkeys and use them as a mentor. The most useful knowledge is gained by time in the woods. as a new turkey hunter i would suggest youjust sitting in the woods on a crisp spring morning listening and observing.

The best way i found out is to go out. my best experiences have been watching turkey from a distance. also read some books on their behaviour. and just ask questions. there are more than enough people willing to share their experiences.
