Winchester Extended Range in 835?

Anybody shoot the Extended Range in their 835? I tried the 3 1/2" #5&6's in mine with a .670 and.680 choke with poor results. Would a .695 or .700 choke be better?

Try shooting the 3" version and you may find it will pattern better...Thats been the case witha lot of3 1/2" shotguns...They pattern betterwith 3" shells.

I shoot a BPS which is also overbored like your 835 and with a .670 choke I get phenominal patterns out to 40 yards using 3" #6 Xtendeds.

At what yardage? You mention poor results but at what yardage(s) did you try that at?

Out of my 11-87, the 3.5#6s pattern great at 40 yards.

Never go past 40 yds. The worse performance was at this yardage.

I bought my 870 SPT new and the first and only shell I shot out of it was Winchester 3.5HV #4's and they patterned AWSOME!!! out to 50 yards... Took a gobbler with it the first year I hunted with it at 56 paces... Prob will never use anything else
