Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

Default 1 or 2 decoys

I will be ordering decoys in a few days. I have BuckWing decoys and I don't like them because they are too bulky, even when folded (because of the material there made out of). I have no idea which brand I will go with. The question is...should I buy 2 decoys (jake and a hen) or 1 decoy (hen)?

Ive tried it both ways and get a better response using two hens
and 1 jake. With just the hens, the gobblers often
will hangup and try to make the hens come to him (as they do
naturally). The jake makes the gobbler come in to take
the hens from him. Ive tried all combinations including one hen and onejake but the best success Ive had is with the 2 and 1. Also in
my experience, the smaller sized jake decoy works best.

Purep- one lone hen is all you need to lure that gobbler in.
that's what i use when gun huntin. if I'm bowhuntin, then i use
a hen and a jake, in the breedin position.
feather flex are good decoys. they fold flat and are light as a feather, and will definately fool ole Tom.
I'm not sayin 3 ain't better than one. but one will work. I just don't care about hauling that many deeks around<img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>
