Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

Default Strikers

I got a package in the mail.It contained 6 custom strikers made by BT.I recognize the wood in 2 of them and the other 4 are wood I'm not familiar with.2 of those sound real sweet.I compared them against a purpleheart striker on glass, slate and ceramic. To me they beat the purpleheart handsdown. Thanks BT.

I'm sure you've got some winners there Jim,BT's been working hard on making those strikers and experimenting with different woods! The real test will come this spring when we get a chance to make sweet music to ole longbeard with em!Them woods up north must make some sweet music if its got purpleheart beat!!Keep up the good work BT!

Jim , Thanks for the comments on the strikers.I've been playing with as many different types of woods that I can find here.I knew with this secret wood type was good because it seemed to stand out from the rest in tone and pitch on all the diff. surfaces. I also found another wood that sounds great and is just as good in tone and pitch aswell but it seems to be UGLY looking wood. The way I see it is if it works for hunting then thats what counts ,think I'll call it the "Ugly Custom" striker. I had no idea they would work aswell as the Pupleheart, thats one I don't have. I made one yesterday out of Elm wood and don't plan on doing another ,Man is it hard wood. Took me 2 hours to lathe and sand it, it sounds ok but sure is hard to work with. I also added a "Choke Cherry" to the collection aswell. The hunt gose on !...BT
