I need to start working a turkey load for my newSBE II. I'm sure I'll be looking into them within the next month or so. I'd like to have it done before thefall hunting kicks in. In fact, I believe I'll be heading this morning to the sporting goods shops to pick up some loads. I'll be sure to post up my results once they're in

I just got in from the sport shop and couldn"™t find the new Remington ammo. I"™m sure stores won"™t carry it this early before the season. I'll have to do a search on line for it. Here"™s what I picked up today as a starting point. I still have a Winchester HV, XR HD, Remington Wingmaster HD and about a dozen other combinations to try but didn"™t want the wife to start testing the loads on me first. If any of thes don"™t met up to my standards, I"™ll just have to go back to Nitro Rayloads and bite the cost.

I just learned that Remington will not be making anymore Hevi-Shot loads. Anyone know if that"™s true? I don"™t see it listed on their web site under their turkey loads and won"™t bother testing it if it won"™t be available anymore.

Remington Nitro Turkey 3" 1-7/8oz. 6 shot
Remington Premier Magnum 3" 2oz. 6 shot
Federal Flitecontrol Wad 3" 1-3/4oz. 5 shot
Federal Flitecontrol Wad 3" 1-3/4oz. 6 shot

I've looked for the new HD stuff for the past year, whenever I'm on the mainland. Haven't seen it anywhere's 'cept on TV. I really got to like Rem's Hevi-shot loads. It dropped turks in their tracks and hit honkers hard.

I understand somebody is making a heavier than lead turkey load in7 1/2.That'd beA LOT ofpellets hitting a bird.

BassPro has the Remington HD. I know that Nitro has a triplex load that has 7 1/2 shot in it. Here in NH I can't use 7 1/2 shot for turkey hunting but in the other states that I hunted in, itwas OK. Might want to double check your state regulations before heading out with it if you happen to find it and like the pattern it throws.

I never thought that Remington makes Hevi-Shot.

You're right, Remington doen't make Hevi-Shot. I believe I asked if they were not making Hevi-Shot loads,"loads" being the key word. Sorry if Iwasn'tclearer on that so below is aphoto of a brand of Remington Hevi-Shotloads. Turkey loads not the Hevi-Shot itself. This is what I was told thatRemington will not be making anymore.

Remington stopped loading these over a year ago. Anything found on the selves since then was leftover stock. Getting harder to find now.
