Default Finally sealed the deal with a bow

After taking my first birdw/ a gun I decided to give the bow a chance. With exactly 10 minutes left in New Yorks season I put a well placed arrow in my first bird. It's a jake but he may as well be a limbhanger to me. I stalked up to a field were I had seen them from the road slipping just in the hedge row at about 85 ydsI softly called.Out popped momma hen into the field and she tore right to me and passed within 10 yds and kept going the jakes followed as if on a leash. With no blind drawing was a bit tough but I was fortunate and got away w/ some movement. The shot was not what i wanted but they wouldn't turn broadside. I let rip and dropped him at about 18yds. His beard was maybe 4-5 inches after my broadhead gave him a shave half was about 2 inches. What a feeling to take one w/ archery gear
