Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

Default Turkey mounts - Standing bird

My taxi picked up my '07 bird from my home, Friday. When I went back to retrieve my arrow (from the location where I shot the bird)....I found that it was a clean pass-thru.....that had stuck into a deadfall limb. I was able to break the deadfall limb from the trunk of the downed tree.....and I'm going to have him mounted.....standing on that limb. I unscrewed the arrow from the broadhead......and the BH's still lodged in the limb. I thought this would give the mount a little "Character".

Does anyone have photos of their birds mounted standing? I really want him standing as tall as he can be made to.

Thanks, in advance, for your responses.

This isas tall and proud as you're going to find a Turkey mount.

that is a very nice mount...The next "big" bird I shot, I think I would like to have a full mount done where the gobbler is roosted on a limb.

Here's my only turkey mount. Not standing, but different, anyway. Really easy to keep clean - I eventually want my grand slam identically chest-mounted on four identical shields lined up on the wall. This bird was probably the nicest one I ever got - had a beard that pushed well over 11", and spurs that were 1.5. Good weight too. His spurs don't look all that long, b/c they're not curved as much as some of the other limbhangers I've got, and angled away from the camera, but they're actually the same length as his thumbs.

I'll have to take a better picture in good light someday.

I will mount my first 22+ lb MA bird w/ at least a 9" beard and 1+" spurs..
In the process of buying a new house... will have a nice room for it...
