Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

We ran into that in SD this spring, we went out for merriums and couldnt get them to gobble at all, they would gobble in the morning like 3 maybe 4 times if we were lucky and that was it, they all had a dozen hens with them..I just dont think they need to gobble when they are roosting with the hens and can see them 2 limbs over they dont have to gobble at all...Plus if they get pressured they know to keep quit or get lead in the rump...Just my thoughts no expert by no means...Good luck hopefully you can get a poke at one...

Opening day in CT was wet, but the birds were gobbling. Today, 2 days later they gobbled a couple times on the roost, then shut up. I made a rookie mistake thats gonna cost me...I heard a gobble offa little further awayand since it was getting pretty light, I figured the birds I had roosted that shut up had actually moved off. I went to get after them and found that they were still there, just being quiet. I ended up watching them fly off to the next county after I bumped them. Just got off the phone with the landowner, no turkeys roosting in the usual spots tonight,in fact, they didnt see or hear any birds all day. Very unusual.
