Default holes ! it must work!

ok, this is for some of you who think that holes in paper kill turkeys...

you might get a good "pattern " at 60 yards. and , you might "put 10 in the head" at 100, but the point i think alot of people are missing is ......PAPER AIN"T TURKEYS........

how much ENERGY do you think that tiny pellet has at 60 yds, 70 yds, 77yds?

heck, i'd let you shoot ME at 77yds, bet it wouldnt break my skin.

we've got alot of wounded, crippled birds around here because these "Pattern Cowboys" poke holes in paper and think thier guns are howitzers.

smarten up. the birds are due that much.

I agree with some of the distances your talking about but if you're sighted in I think you could ethically take shots out to 50 with standard loads and even further with some of the more modern loads. I may not try it but I've seen it done several times.

Moose, I agree to an extent. Super long shots shouldn't be taken unless you're positive you and your gun can do it. All it takes it one pellet, but it's gotta be placed right and these are shotguns we're shooting.

But you wouldn't wanna get shot from 77 yards. It'd certainly break skin...

Getting em in close is the name of the game. However you pattern your gun out to 60 yds if you want to. In archery I sometimes practice 50yd shots but I would never take one! Same here 30-35yd max range for me!

Amen brother Moose! Amen! If it was against the law to shoot at a turkey beyond 40yds, many would never kill a turkey.
