Default sons successful youth hunt

Indiana finnaly held its first ever youth hunt and my sonDalton busted a good one this eve.Its my sons fith bird, but his best. We had birds all over the place this morning but could only get them 70 yards. At 3:30 this evening we were sitting at home pondering where to hunt for the eve. When my son went to his room upstairs and spotted two Toms thru his spotting scope feeding along the wood line. We decided to walk the 1000 yards[]and set up along the edge of the field they were in. After glassing them on the way we crept into the woods and followed the inside edge quietly and peeking into the field every once and awhile to see how close we were. After getting within 60 yards with them feeding our way, I had him set up about 15 yards inside the woods where there was a good opening to see the field. 30 min. later a hen and two Toms showed up at 30 yards and he busted the biggest one. These were the same Toms we had worked this morning but the hen kept them from comming in, so we stepped out side of the box and did a little ambush. Hes happy, Im happy so all is well. The bird had a 10 1/2" beard, 1 3/8" spurs but went a little light at 19 lbs. here are some pics. enjoy!!

Nice bird! Those are some huge spurs.Tell your son congrats for me. I can't wait until Wed. Looks like the weather could be of concern though. Either way I will still be out there.
