Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

Default Gobbler Gilloten

Hey guys,

Has anyone ever tried the Gobbler Gillotin (sp) ?

Can it be fired more than once?

Can you shoot it into a broad head target?

Getting ready to do some turkey hunting and thinking about trying them out.

Thanks

Tom

If you hunt from a blind, make sure your shot is clear, or you'll end up ruining your blind!

yip,

No

yes, but you will ruin the blades. You will probably needto use longer arrows than you normally use, this is so the broadhead stays infront of and away from your sights and riser. We practiced with longer arrows with 125 practice points, and then only shot one broadhead guillotine to make sure they flew trueto the field points. We found it is also important to spin test the guillotines to make sure they are balanced. If they don'tspin true, they certainly won't fly true!
Shoot for the headand neck only, and if you hit the turkey, it'sDRT!

I hunt with one. Just like any other broadhead after one use you probably need to get some replacement blades. I dont like to use the same blades on two animals.

I was never planning on shooting it ata target but some of my buddies talked me into it. I have a Block Original and I just turned it around the the blank white side and shot at a orange sticker I put on. It shot perfect believe it or not. A LITTTTTTTLE low but that was because Ihad some longer arrows made for the guillotine and they weighed a little more. Also make sure you use the stealth guards. They really make a difference on the flight. I twice with the stealth guards and twice without and they were definitely different.

Yip, they fly wild without them on. Once you shoot a bird with them, you'll see that the blades won't be straight any more. You can re-use the tip, maybe, but not the blades!
