RE: Anyone using one of these?????
I got the opportunity to sit and talk with Tommy (Dead-eye)Barham, a wonderful gentleman from Southampton County, VA at length about turkey calling, and inparticular, the snuff tube call.
Tommy is a Pro Staffer for Primos, and he is flat out amazing on a tube call! Tommy's picture is acctually on the Package for the Primos Snuff Tube call (which no doubt helped him sell every single one we had in the store that day). Tommy can make that sucker sing in a pretty amazing way. He did some demo's for us and its amazing how loud, or soft, yet super realistic he is with those calls. Tommy summed it up to practice. Just like any other call, it takes a lot of getting used to. Some just take longer than others.
I have been practicing with it for a while, and can make passible sounds with it (thats a lie, I still sound like a goose, or a dying girraffe). But I'm working on it. I think it will be a great call for later in the season when the birds have heard it all.
