My 12 year old sons first turkey! He got it at the very end of the first day of the Wisconsin youth hunt on Sat. April 7th. Three toms came in together at a dead run after only one gobble responding to my mouth call. My brother finished them for us, bringing them in the last few yards with soft calls from one of our homemade box calls. He made a great shot at 30 yards using 2 3/4" lead #4 pheasant loads. 17.5 lbs., 7/8" spurs and 10.25" beard. Team 7, we can only hope I do as well in three weeks.
Thats awesome. Congrats to your son and we know your a proud father. We now have a new addicted turkey hunter. Awesome...

Congrats, I thought that I was going to have the same feeling when the old Tom was walking in last week and my son missed at 30 yrds. He'll have to wait till next year. I can't wait!
