My wife just handed me two round trip tickets to Teexas. Her family owns property and she wants to hunt. So we leave tomorrow at 5:30am going to be in woods tomorrow night.

Thats great! I live in Texas and it is a little cooler than what it normally is this time of the year. But since you are from Ohio, I don't see you having a problem with the temperature. Where in Texas are you heading? Best of luck hunting the rio turkeys...they are lots of fun!!

I hope this isn't a big let down but I don't know that there are turkeys around there. East Texas doesn't hold many birds until you get into deep east Texas. Down around Lufkin. Check the NWTF map of turkey dispersal. It shows a big hole in east Texas. (that is somehow fitting). Are you planning a trip to try to find a bird? If you want to try public land let me know. Maybe I can help. I managed to find a few and kill one last weekend. I will be happy to provide precise directions to where I found the birds. You can also join me for a hog hunt on my lease if you are interested. If you need more info PM me and I'll give you my #. Greg EDIT: I'm about an hour west of Tyler
