I don't know much about the Federal Heavywieght (never heard of them), but #7 shot is a little small. I would assume the heavyweight is a heavier than normal shot, but I would think #7 shot is a little too small.

Go to the NWTF forum. They use the 7's in heavyweight and hevi shot. Seems to be working great for them. I think I might try to get some 7's for my wife's 20 if I can find them.
I agree with the above posts. I would not use # 7 shot (heavyweight, etc.) on
turkey's. Try weighing the shot in grains like I did and you will see why.
Actually given the densitiesof the material used in the heavyweight loads, (heavier than hevishot or Win Elite)andreduced surface area of the #7shotit hits like #5 lead shot. The reason guys are wanting to use it is the "potential" increased pattern density. If you have a gun that'll shoot them they'll tip over a big gobbler at 40 yards, no problem.
It was the most sought after load last spring. Darn near impossible to find with the high demand and limited production. Guys have acheive 180-210 hits in a 10" circle at 40 yards in the right set up. The right set up has been a bit tough to pin down for some guys. Usually a little more open choke like you might choose to shoot #5-#4 lead shot has worked.

I don't believe they are made in 20 gauge. Nitro and Hevishot both load 20 gauge hevishot loads for the 20 though. Winchester Elite can out with a 20 gauge loading this spring but only in #5 shot. Remington also is offering a couple 20 gauge offering in it's new Wingmaster HD for turkeys.
