Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

Default Mossberg choke or undertaker?????

Hey guys,
I know I'm getting a LATE start on this, but do you guys think I would have any luck patterning with my Mossberg Full choke for turkey, or do you think I should not even try it and go out and buy an undertaker of something like that? I already have the Full choke by Mossberg but have never even used it, so I'm asking so that perhaps I mught be able to save a few of the moments I have before Oklahoma Turkey season opens April 6. I have a Mossberg 500, and don't really want to pattern twice, but I will if I have to. Thanks for the input!

i am using the same gun i am just using the full choke i am kind of worried that i will miss the close shots if they say they hit 90% at 40 yards.

I use the Mossberg xx-ful turkey choke. I have never blew a shot with that gun. Last year my farthest shot was 45 yards. Dropped him in his tracks. I say go for the Mossberg turkey choke...

If it's the factory extended XXfull turkey choke then I would say give it a try... But if it's a factory flush mount full choke then I'd say don't waste your time. Go get the Undertaker

I too would go with Mr longdeards on that one.Give it a try.In a few shots you will know if another choke is needed.

So, I guess it's pretty unanimous that I could try the standard full choke, but would probably do better buying an undertaker or something along those lines. I reckon I'll buy an undertaker and get after it then. Thanks you guys for helping a newcomer like myself!

P.S.
I'll be sure and do that, half rack.

I was all prepared to by an undertaker or something similar for my Mossberg 835 Ultimag . . . but it came with an x-tra full turkey choke - the extended kind. I decided to at least give it a "shot" and see how it performed before I spent more money. I was pickled tink! Great patterns out to nearly 50 yards. I killed two big longbeards with it on the first 4 days of the season that year. The 2nd one was at 42 yards and never even fliched after I shot him. Try it first and see.
