Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

Default Choke question

I'm looking to try hunting so I just bought a used Remington 1100 which came with a modified choke. I'm going turkey hunting this spring and from looking through the posts,I see many references to turkey chokes. Is there a big difference betweena turkey choke and a full choke?

Pattern the gun with the factory choke and see how far out you can get a good killing pattern and then that will be your limit. A turkey choke is x-full and should give you a better pattern farther out. You'll have to experiment w/ different shells to find what works best for you. I would try the Federal w/ flight control wad. Seems to give me a dense pattern at 45yds

I think there's a huge diffence!!. Get some form of turkey choke, don't use the stock mod. I switched to the full turkey choke and it hasn't let me down yet. The mod. doesn't have a tight enough pattern.
