Default they're getting fired up!

The past few mornings the weather was great and the gobblers were fired up! I even heard a hen yelping like crazy, but the toms were't really paying her too much attention. It had me all fluster clucked and our season doesn't start for almostanother two months[&o]

Here in missouri were a little over a month away from season start at this
posting. can't hardly wait. Actually youth season is three weeks away. I'll
be taking my daughter, she is excited to. I've seen some strutters but
i haven't been able to get out as i would like. They are still in pretty big
groups. I drove my truck up to a pond to do a little fishing tuesday and
realized i was about 40 yards from a flock, they didn't care, just kept
feeding.

when i got out of the truck at home after work this morning there were two gobbling on the roost. Then went in and made some eggs and watched 3 in our side field, but only one was strutting. pretty cool though

My buddy in KS. called me last night and told me that they are still in the winter flocks around there. He said that from his house he could see one flock that had between 100 - 150 birds in it.
With archery season just a few days more than 3 weeks away, I hope some warm weather shows up and gets them in the mood a little more!

tukeyharvester, I have heard of Naylor. I live in Jackson, just east of Cape
Girardeau and the Mississippi river. Have been to Poplar Bluff many times.
Just a side note, I'm working all night tonight, and just came in from the
fields where I was doing some prescribed burnig to improve the wildlife
habitat and also prepare some fields for restoring pasture. 3 out of 4 fields
went perfectly. The 4th not so much. Allis ok after burning 6 acres of
my neighbors farm, with the help of the local rural fire department all is well. I hope, OUCH!
