Thermacells do NOT work on ticks. Treating your clothes with Permanone (permathrin) definitely does though. For $5 a can at wally world, you can treat a whole outfit (jacket, pants, socks, boots, hat, gloves, etc) and it should last for a couple weeks, even with washing. Just dont spray it on yourself, treat your clothes and let it dry. A name brand is Repel. It works.

Yep. Good advice.

Thermacell definately doesn't work on red bugs either. I wouldn't wish those things on my worst enemy. But you won't see a mosquito or a sand flea when you run that thermacell!

Round here we call em chiggers. And I agree those things are a terror but thankfully I've never got any during turkey season. I'm assuming they're not out then.

This maybe funny to a lot here, but here is something that has kept me Tick free for years and I hunted some of the worst States ever MO and TX included.

American Crew

Quality grooming Products for men

Pomade for hair

this product comes out of Colorodo and cane be found at some hair salons.

On the road I have some bad hair days so a little of this before I head out the door keeps the hair down and the ticks off

A vaccine to protect against Lyme disease is available for people from ages 15 to 70. Contact your health care provider for more information about the vaccine. "If people have any flu-like symptoms -- with or without a rash -- after contact with a tick, they should get medical attention,"
