im new to turkey hunting, i plan on trying it this spring. i am a hardcore waterfowler so all the camo i have is for waterfowl, which i also where to hunt deer. my question is this, is my max4HD and shadowgrass camo alright for turkeys, iknow they have very good eyes.

you got a pik of the camo ... i think i know what it looks like but i think it would work good just make sure moving is minimal and as long as there is some grassy areas by you it should all work out good and good luck hunting...you tryin it with a gun or bow?

Keeping stilland keeping yourself outta the light and in the shadows if at all possible is the most important, Oh and get your back up against something(big tree) if at all possible, especially on public land when there areother hunters in the area.

Within reason what you have should work just fine. There is a whole following of turkey hunters out there (somewhere) that don't wear camo at all, just dark greens and browns and they take great pride in still keeping undetected well enough to fool ole Tom.......due to the fact that they are VERY careful about thier movements. I've not had the B())S too try this yet but it might happen one day!

Its funny, I've moved around like an idiot reaching for calls and strikers and what not and had birds never spot me, other times I've blinked and at 30 yards they just stop, stare at you and then PUTT PUTT PUTT.........its a crazy game!

Keep it safe and have fun!

The camo pattern itself isn't the key. It's covering all your skin, staying in shadows, and most importantly being still.

Best turkey hunter I know doesn't care about his camo too much. He just likes the greens and browns to be in the clothing. He kills more turkey than anyone else I know...
