Default mouth call Purr

I can't seem to make the Purr sound with my mouth call? Can you only do it with certain types of cut reeds? If so, which type works best for it? Also, are there any hints or tips you can give to help make the sound?

Just try to flutter your lips together while blowing air out , kinda like making the sound of a motor boat or giving somebody a rasberry.
Some callers try to gargel with the call to get that purr sound but thats really hard to do , I rather do the lip flutter way.
It takes alot of practice but the longer you try it the better you'll get.

It may take a certain call for you. But try this.
You must huff (almost like breathing) the air while fluttering your tongue and vibrating your lips.
All mouth calls should be run huffing or breathing the air not blowing it across the reeds. The further down in the diaphragm you can get the air to come from the better.

Ditto to what they said! It takes a ton of practice. I know I dont think mine sounds good but the turkeys seem to like it.
