Im new to turkey hunting, and am going to try to get a couple birds this coming season in seguin texas. i have a remington 870 20 gauge with a full choke i just bought. i also have a MAD calls cherry bomb box. do i really need decoys? any tips would be greatly appreciated.
ok thanks, what would be some good decoys that arent too pricy. do not have a very big budget
FeatherFlex are descent decoys for the price...and you can't beat their weight. Should be able to pick one up for around $10 or a flock for around $25. They work for me anyways.

Zubba gave you some good advice , but the first thing to remember when calling is dont call to much listen to the bird he will tell you how much to call .now when scouting dont just find the bird ,know the lay out of the land dont get a creek or some kind of brush ditch or something he dont wantt to cross , and if there is hills there get above them before calling they like to go up hill better than down hill call soft at first and let him gobble on roost before you call , then call soft and short let him answer then sit quiet ,let him gobble some then call again he will fly down in your direction then call some more ,if he is fired up keep calling with yelps then throw in a couple of cuts and purrs and get ready sit quiet he will come ........good luck and be patient
I agree with zubba. I would also read all of the turkey hunting stuff at huntingnet.com located here: http://www.huntingnet.com/turkey/
You can navigate through different categories about turkey hunting and get a lot of useful information.

Please make sure you pattern your gun. Make sure of your maximum yardage for a kill shot. Using a 20 gauge will limit your range a little.
The dekes are not a must. Sometimes they will cause the gobbler to hang up out of range, other times they will run right in. Go figure!!!
Stay still and use your eyes to look around not your head. If you do have to move do it very very slowly... Good luck...
I also like to carry a pair of garden clippers w/ me at all times, just to cut some braches to build a little blind. This will break up your outline and it will give you a little room for movement but NOT MUCH cause turkeys have very sharp eyesight. Goodluck
zubba deffinatly gave some good advice, and like tkycaller said, decoys arent really that important, but I always like to set one out just so the gobbler has something to keep his eye on as hes comming in instead of looking at me.
one more thing, this is probably just one of my little superstitions, but i NEVER take a camera with me. its bad luck
