My friend called me on my way home from church today to say he had seen turkeys (long beards)on two ends ofa mt range I hunt.3 at one end and5 at the other. I got so excited that Iwent to WalMart and bought two mouth calls. On the way home from Wal Mart I drove pastthe areas and sure enough 3 Long Beards at one end scratching in the snow. I didn't see any at the other end.8 prospects!!!!!. Now I am really excited and there are still two months until opening day.How arethe rest of you guys containing yourself?

My friend called me as I was typing and said he sawthe 3 long beardsagain and noticed a flock of 20-25 birds this time. Double Party!!!!

With all this ice I have not been out to scout. I hope they are finding enough to eat to pull through this prolonged bad weather.

Yesterday I saw about 10 hens standing in the middle of the road. And we have seen 3 longbeards hanging out in a group behind my grandparent's house every couple of days.

We already have our names on all three.

Last fall was the worst ever. We always have turkeys on our property. In the spring the were all over my family killed 3 long beards and missed one. This fall the all disapeared. We saw one turkey all fall and we hunt a lot. We have cameras set up also and only have one picture of a lone turkey. The neighbors are not seeing them either. Hope things get better before spring.
