You dont want to hunt them from a treestand. Get the best blind you can afford. Call wise start off with a slate or a box call. The biggest thing when bow hunting turkeys is patience. You will mess up more then you will succeed. But stay with it!!! Its alot of fun and nothing is more rewarding then a tom with the bow. Good luck

I almost forgot use a mechanical head. You do not want the penatration like you would hunting big game. I personally use the NAP gobbler getters. Its up to you there are plenty of good heads out there. Some people turn their poundage down. I myself dont but once again thats your choice. Im sure I forgot something but someone will remember.

Try to wait until its head is obscured to draw your bow or you'll be BUSTED.

As mentioned above...don't use a treestand or you will get busted, use mechanicals and adjust your bow to a lighter draw weight, use a ground blind, and strategically draw your bow.

Question.. When bowhunting turkey, do you prefer going for a head shot or a body shot? I see a lot of people say to use a mechanical instead so that there isn't as far of penetration, but wouldn't a mechanical go through the bird just like a broadhead would?
