Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

Default Locator Calls

what locator calls do you like best that are easy to use? Also, If we will be trying to find them roosting at sunset, which call is better at that time of day, owl or crow?

I never really had much luck with an owl. I use crow calls and a good ol box call.

Funny, I just asked the same thing about 2 weeks ago. If you go into the other pages you will see it. There are a lot of usefull replies. Good luck. Oh, by the way, I like the boat horn.

I have an owl, crow, peacock/woodpecker, and gobbler. My favorite is the gobbler... but its not legal on public land (all i hunt is private) if i had to choose between the rest it would be owl, then crow, and i think the woodpecker/peacock was a waste of 7 bucks lol. I have never tried locating in the afternoon...but i would suggest crow. Good luck with it.

In the early morning and at sunset, I have good luck with an owl hoot. In the midday hunts, I either cut hard with my call or hit a crow call. They work the best for me.
