thats going to be a hard one to beat......my first bird was a GREAT bird, been trying to get one better than him for a few yrs. now....my swamp bird had an 1.5 spur. and 1.25 17.5 lbs, but his beard wasn't quite 10 inches....so it's a tie, lol......but my first , i dont really remember the spurs, they were at least 1.25 '' and he weighed 17.5 lbs , with a 10 3/8 in. beard.....i believe those were his stats....

Every one I've ever shot was the "best". One thing I've always loved about turkey hunting is that it's not a competition.

My third bird I took was 22lbs, 1-1/4 spurs, and an 11-1/2 in beard. The best part of it was I got a double with my best friend, and his bird had the same stats as mine. If we put these birds in MOs high scoring birds they would place somewhere in the 70th place range, which is really good for only having one beard. This is probably a Bird I will never beat, but I'm gonna have fun trying.

Last year was my biggest bird. He weighed 27.5 pounds and had a 11 inch beard. The spurs were over an inch long. he was one of the smaller birds killed that day in southeast missouri. The biggest killed that day was 29 pounds. We were hunting a 4000 acre cattle ranch in West Plains.

Man I hear you on that one. I got some much pride the first time I killed a turkey. I was by myself hunting. So I was learningas I went. I went with my neighbor a couple times over the past years. But we never even really got a bird gobbling. So I was really frustrated before last year.It took me three years to kill one but with baseball I think I was only able to hunt three times before that morning I got my first.

there all trophys, its the gobble that makes the hunt not the gobbler. biggest for me was 22lbs even and he was tough as an old shoe. my smallest was 15.5 lbs and was the tastiest and tenderest bird ive ever had . for table fare i now seek out jakes over the tough old birds.
