Default Best Choke for SPS-T

The most I want to spend on a choke is $60. I was sold on the Kick's Gobblin' Thunder, but I read they weren't made for heavy loads. I've also been lookin at the Jellyhead and Comp n Choke.

The pattern with this choke wasn't very good.

I have read this as well. I have been looking at the Primos Jelly Head, too, but I haven't had a chance to go and buy it. From what I have read, several people have been pleased with the patterns from this choke tube. Question back to you mathewsotb22....on your 870, are you getting some slight rubbing on the bottom side of the magazine tube where the pump goes over when you pump the gun?

I've been shooting a 870 SP for years. One of the best guns I have. I've tried several choke tubes. I've tried compnchoke, jelly head, and others. I finally tried a briley tube in .655. It seems to really do a good job. I like to get a turkey in close. I don't really like those long range shots that you see on tv. Those old boys stretch it out pretty good. Just a thought on the briley tubes.

Guess you got one befoe I got back with you on a price. The Mad SuperMax in mine does well, as I shoot hevi-shot through it. I went to Rhino chokes in my other 3 turkey guns and absolutely love the results when using Nitro Ammo 4x5x7 hand loaded hevi-shot loads. If you are shooting hevi-shot, which I would recommend doing, be sure you get a choke approved for hevi-shot. I have heard that the Primos JellyHead is great. Check out the latest newsletter at www.nitrocompany.com

Is the Jelly Head approved for Hevi-shot? Is there a type of shot you can't shoot through a Jelly Head??

The Jelly Head is approved and designed for Hevi-Shot. You can read about it at www.primos.com I would not shoot steel shot through any full choke tube.
