Default Pa streak continues

Well I finally got my fall bird Friday morning around 7. I was walking across the top of a small ridge, where I got into 9 longbeards last fall, in the dark and bumped 3 large turkeys off the roost. Thankfullyone of themflew away from the other two so I figured I'd have a chance of calling him in so I just setdown and waited for daylight. Wellabout 10 minutes after day lite I just made a few putts and all heckbroke loose. The two birds that flew away in the same direction startedyelpin and puttin right back.I'd yelp they'd yelp and beon the move towardsme but as soon asI quit callin they'd stop callin.SoI'd wait a few minutes and call again and sure enough they'd be inthe very last spotI heardthem, butas soon as I'd call again they'd be on there way calling non stop and onthe move. SoI knew they wantedme to call soI keptyelpin and puttin and they kept coming on a string. Finally at about 50 yds one decides togobble and nowI can see the lead gobbler and he starts on adead run right at me. So I stop calling (I was using my slate on the ground besidesme) and gota bead on him and at about 25 ydsI putt with my mouth he stops and i let him have it. Ended up haveing a 8in beard 1/2 in spurs and weighed 17 pds.I was starting to worry it wasn't going to happen this fallbut after 12 straight days of being in the woodsit finally paid off. Now I'llbeable to make it untilthe spring season rolls around.

Congrats on a fine bird. Sounds a bit like my hunt last week as well.
