Default Breaking up the flock

I was just wondering if anyone uses a dog to break up flocks then hunt in the immediate spot where they were broken up. I've been checking out a magazine that had a small article on breaking up flocks with dogs. Seems like it would be pretty productive. Anyone?

I hunted one fall in MI with a Turkey dog. It was cool how the dog worked the birds and then waited out the kill. If your into fall hunting and want to see something different this is worth it, to see a good dog work birds...BT

when busting flocks with dogs or just rushing the birds if at all possible try and wait until the birds are facing in different directions. That way they fly in all directions for a much more efficient break up.

I noticed after taking my dog (golden retreiver) out in the woods and do a little scouting that he really can smell turkeys well. He's taken off a couple times without even seeing them and scattered them around then comes back like he'sthe man. My father was saying that Tucker (dogs name) saw my turkey decoys the other day and got very excited. I'mthinking about taking him outa time or two this fall and see what he can do.
