There are two ways, be darn lucky like , or hard work.

When it comes to the hunting industry it's who you know and who you are. You need to make contact after contact but being careful to never step on toes or those you pass by. You need to keep your nose clean and it comes down to your personality, likable or not.

Then it comes down to how far you want to take it, as far as job, hobby and your time. Believe me, it can be a job and the fun can be gone. I personally have now come to the conclusion that I want to be part of the hunting industry but not rely on it. It is a very finicky business and more lose than win in it.

Get an education first and make the hunting industry your hobby or at least get an eductation that will further your hunting knowledge and hobby.

Rob , I couldn't have said it better. The only thing I will add is that when you start you have far more enemies then friends...BT

Its a tough way to make a living.

Start with making friends in the industry and it may open doors.

If not,get the education Rob refered to and your options could be endless. Good Luck.

The way I see it (as a regular Joe) is it is a very small pie with lots wanting a piece. I don't think you have to do anything other than try and get to the table and you'll turn up some noses. I'll bet that's what Adrian is referring to possibly.

I have witnessed first hand a young guy trying to do this exact thing the absolute wrong way. He thought he was a top notch hunter and therefore would be a good fit to make the industry more of a job. He is anything but a top notch hunter I am afraid. Even if he was or he was successful in making people think hewas, he was not able to be humble and put in his time takin the licks. As a result he is going nowhere.

His other problem was that he has no money and making moneyin the industry was a driving factor. That's not good. I think you need to prepare yourself to invest lots of your own time and $$ for years before you can start to expect a return. Gotta do it for the love of the sport but that don't pay the bills so have a way to do that in the mean time or take the time to establish yourself and then go for it.

Hope to see you on the outdoor channel sometime in the future
