Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

Default The last day hunt that is hard to believe

Well you are going to find this hard to believe but here it goes.

It was the last day of turkey season here in Ohio and my wife ask me if I was going to hunt that day. I told here not to set the 5 am alarm and if I woke up in time I would go. I was laying there listening to the birds singing and the crows carry on when I heard a gobble. Then I heard it again. I jump out of bed and raised the window so I could hear better. There it was again, a turkey in my woods just a gobbling his head off. I ran down the steps and put on my hunting clothes. I grabed a decoy and my call and headed back to the woods. I was not sure were he was for sure so I didn't want to try to get too close. Setup the decoy and started calling. Well it took 1 1/2 hours to get that old bird in but he finally gave me a shot. He weighted 18 lbs. His beard was 10 1/2 and spurs were 1 1/8 and 1 3/16. WHAT A WAY TO END TURKEY SEASON.car

It's nice when a plan comes together.Fool the bird into thinking you are going to ignore him, ...Congrats on the bird!

That is an excallent way to end the seaon .I started my very first season off this way .I had set the alarm ,but for some reason it never went off ,so when I woke upI thought what a waste of time, because this is my first turky hunt and I've never hunted them before and I'm hunting alone ,soI have absolutely no clue where to start .To make a long story short, I got to that bush nearing the 7:00am point and came out of the bush with a 19.64 lb tom by 8:00am .So sometime's it pay's to be late LOL
