Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

Default The best year yet in Pa!!

I must say Pennsylvania sure has it's populations up. I've haven't taken a bird yet, but have called in 19 jakes. I've had so much fun. My kid is one year away and hope I can repeat next year with my son by my side. There's been years where I took a 10 incher on second day, but this year has been more fun playing with so many different birds. I had 6 jakes come in together this morning around 10 o'clock. awesome!!! Do any of you Pa hunters think that this second tag will affect our populations?

Where are you hunting in PA? We've been up above Mifflenburg in the Bald Eagle State Forest and see plenty of signs of turkeys but have only heard 1 and haven't seen any. This is my second year hunting so I'd be happy to get a jake if you want me to take one of them off your hands.

aspleema,
I am hunting Beaver county, western, Pa. Not too familiar with your neck of the woods. I'm taking the bow on Saturday and hope to take one of those jakes because I've never taken a bird with a bow before.

Not seeing ANYTHING close to those types of numbers, and I feel I hunt areas with decent populations.

This is the first year where all birds were in batchelor groups I've had groups of 3, 4, 3, 3, and 6. All different spots too. My job lets me get out during the week when no one else is around. It makes a big difference when you're the only one in the woods. I've gotten messed up on Both Saturdays by other hunters, but that's how it goes. I guess all you really need to see is one turkey!!! A good one!!! Sure havin' fun though!!
