Well it all started when i arrived a little later than predicted in the woods got there at 6:00 am and it was already light. I headed to my set up spot but the gobblers werent makin noise, so i turned in the direction were i hurd a faint gobble.finally i got there it was a small grass road with a dryed up grown over creek bed behind me and a wooded hill in front. i sat down in bout waist high grass against a oak and faced up hill and did some talkin. after bout 5 minutes the gobbler up hill sounded off, so i waited. then i hurd some faint clucks and yelps to my far left rear, then they got closer and closer till 2 jakes and a massive tom crossed the roadto my side.i did some quik yelpin on my diaphram hopin theyd cross my path. the 2 good sized jakes were 30 yds in front with big dady another 20 yds behind in thick trees and brush. after waiting about 5 minutes i decided that the tom wasnt comin any closer and a jake would do for a first bird for me. took off my safety aimed and boom had a nice 25lb jake with a 5 inch beard on the ground. i still have 1 weekend left and that big tom is mine.
