Default any advice....

tomarrow i plan to hunt "Gobbler Ridge" as i call it......the ridge that i spooked them off the roost from last saturday....assuming they are still roosting there and are talking......i plan to set up to the left of them.....ill set up a good 150-300yds away....and will be there atleast a half hour before they think about waking up....so i wont get busted again....but its going to be a tough setup...they roost on a STEEP hillside....i dont have them patterend....and really cant hunt them to the right...theres a farmhouse and id be way to close to hunt them from there....but all the sign ive found was to the left where i plan to setup....BUT theres a field from where i approach....and the woods is 100yds from the STEEP drop off to the edge of the field....kinda thick old apple orcahrd from field edge to a 20yd wide oak flat..then the drop off...with any luck they will come straight from the roost either through the field towards me...or through the 100yd flat eiith the opening or the orachard....i just dont know WHERE to setup....set up closer to the field? in the opening? in the old orchard? the orchar isnt THAT thick...i could get shootin done in there easy...but i dont know..i dont want them to sneak up behind me...i have 1 hen decoy...should i put it out?? should i call before they hit the ground? a light tree call and fly down? then some scratching in the leaves and wait and see what happens? 2yrs ago i did that to them....they flew down on my lap going nuts....BOOM it was over....what would you guys do?? any tips...advice...help? i want to bag one tomarrow!! this first week been FRUSTRATING...lets say they DONT come my way off the roost...what should i do? the oak flat and orachard is tore up with scratchings...so they go there sooner or later.....and the oak flat clearing would make an awesome strutzone if i were a turkey...below me at the bottom is a creek..besides the orchard its all old oaks....the steep hillside is all oaks too.....thanx guys....just looking for some helpful advice....there was a good number of birds gobbling last saturday RIGHT there.....so hopefully they dont ALL roost with hens...hopefully they are back roosting there....

I'd set up on the edge of the apple orchard facing the oak flats. Put your decoy about 25-30 yards into the oak flats. A little after daylight I'd start scratching the leaves and throw in some soft purrs. That might get the birds thinking others are already feeding and the toms may come in and try to pick up some other hens. Just a suggestion. Good luck.

thanx alot...kinda following my thinking....i think i may setup on the VERY edge of the steep hill though...that is if i can find a spot where i wont be stuck in the open...that way if they come from the roost through the open flat or through the orchard...or even through the field..i will see them and be ready...or maybe ill tuck into the orchard just to be safe....ill beable to see them way down the oak flat....i dont want them to see me the whole time...ill have to see where i can find good cover...if im in the orchard they should still see the decoy anyway they come...taking their attention off of me....and it would be to my left...so i can swing left or take them as they walk to it....cant wait...keep the tips coming!....i think WAY to much........that could be my problem lol....but last week i didnt think at all and got busted...
