Default Shot my Bird On Opening Day today!
Shot my Bird this moring at 5:55 am in the heavy rain he came into the decoys with 2 other full toms and they gobbled really hard for the weatherthe flew down about 200 yard away form me and called and got them fired up and then when they hung up i decided to do some fighting purrs and they ran right in and knocked the jake decoy right off the steak!

I forgot to Add he weighd 20 lbs with a 10 1/2 inch beard and 2 1 inch spurs he was a 3 year old bird ..

Yeah, it was wet this morning, wasn't it?!

Nice bird. I had a nice strutter hang up on a fence gate, that he crossed to get into the field but would not cross to come back into the woods. Tomorrow maybe...

Congrats, great bird! Ive been to Concord several times and seen turkeys off the road My kid goes to school at St. Pauls. Maybe I'll get a NH tag next year!
