Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

Default TOMS GETTING QUIET IN KENTUCKY???

HA FELLOWS,

JUST A FEW QUESTIONS IVE BEEN TURKEY HUNTING 2 YEARS NOW SO IM STILL GREEN BEHIND THE EARS LOL. WE HAVE A THREE WEEK SEASON AND WERE IN THE SECOND WEEK NOW IVE GOT ONE BIRD AND HAVE BEEN HEARING SEVERAL OTHERS TILL NOW. THE QUESTIONS I HAVE IS WHY ARE THE BIRDS ONLY TALKING AT DAYBREAK AND SOON AS THEY HIT THE GROUND THEY GO QUIET, ONLY A OWL OR CROW STIRS THEM UP... ALSO I HAVE BEEN WITHIN 75 TO 100 YRDS ON TWO BIRDS IN THE TREES AND THEY ANSWER MY CALLS BUT WHEN THE HIT THE GROUND THEY GO THE OTHER WAY GOBBLING, DO TOMS GET QUIET AS THE SEASON GETS OLDER OR ARE THERE STILL TO MANY HENS AROUND......

THANKS,

Here in South Central KY, the birds are still gobbling. It sounds like yours may be henned up. Hens will lead toms away from the competition. Sounds like you need to team up with a buddy. One to get in the direction the toms have been going. Don't call just listen & intercept them. The other go where you have been calling from & call.
