Default Had one hang up ...

Had one hang up today. He came from round 200 yrds.
Up the hollow he came to,just outside where I could see him.
Had him triple gobblin, but he wouldn't budge.
He even circled to my left, gobblin evey breath, til he was behind me.
Where he kept it up for 20-30 min and finally walked off, giveing me an ocassional gobble to remindthis "hard to get" hen, just what she missed out on.
Well, I'll try again tomarrow!

the joys and frustrations of turkey season!! gota love it and hate it all at the same time....those ones are the worst....from the highest of highs...to be dropped for one of a million reasons.....thats the worst for me....sitting there shaking...KNOWING hes hot to trot...coming in going nuts....then he just wont come in.....my favorite tactic for that is the old ignore trick....clucking occassionally and "walking" around...when they are close i found crunching and scratching in the leaves will drive them nuts sometimes...but it can be hard when they are close also...sometimes it works...sometimes they just got other plans...sometimes they know better and will come in like that bird...but want the "hen" to come the rest of the way.....good luck tomarrow.....im pumped..its our opener finally!!

Glad you at least had them gobbling! I was out this morning from 9 to 11:30 AM and didn't hear a thing. Didn't hear a thing on Tuesday either. I wonder what the deal is here in VA[:-]?
