Default Youth Hunt

Today was the Pa.youth hunt.Since I have a 14 yr old that means I get to get out there a week earlyI was watchin the weather all week and they been callin for rain.(Anyone who's been commin to these boards knows I love huntin turkey in the rain)Last night we went and set up a blind on the edge of a small clearinon the State Game Lands.Got into the blind this mornin and around 6:10 Jake says dad there's a turkey.A hen was workin our way.Hit the call and 4 diffrent gobblers opened up behind us.I let em gobble some.Called again and another hen landed at our decoys 15yds away. Then another, the whole time the gobblers are gettin closer. The second hen to land had a beard.I told Jake,it was his decision.Well that's all he needed to hear. boom.down it went.It was 6:30.On the way home I asked him if he wouldn't have rather waited for a gobbler. He said nope.He was happy so I was happy plus I got to go back to bed.
