With my Mossberg 500 I had 78 in the kill zone at 40 yards. Thats shooting Federals 3" 2oz 5 shot. I have a factory xx-f turkey choke. Best turkey gun Ive ever owned. I wouldnt trade it for the world.

Are you defining the "kill zone" as the entire head and neck region or just the brain and spinal cord. I, and most others I read here, define it as the brain and spinal cord. Not trying to start an argument and I am not doubting your word, but 78 pellets in the brain and spine at 40 yards is, well, mega exceptional. I shoot the Moss 835, Hevi-13, 3.5 inch, 1.75 ozload and got42 #6 pellets in the head and neckat 35 yards, but that only resulted in 13 - 15 shots in the brain and spine. I'm happy with these results and don't want to change, but I would love to see a picture of one of your targets.

Thanks

outa my 500 I get about 17- 24 pellets touching or in the spine and brain. I dont count the ones that don't touch bone. This is at 30 yards. If I counted all the pellats in the head and neck are I think there was about 40 or so.

I use the #5 3" Federal Flight control, and with my 835, at 40 yards, I had 12-14 in the spinal colum and brain. So I thought that was good and stuck with. Drop him at 35 I guess when I thought about it after the excitement. [8D][8D][8D]
