Default My morning in the woods

SO I got a spot that I know is SO hot that the turkeys go through there twice a day. Not SURE on the times but its before 10 am and after 2 pm. I know when I need to be in the woods. I wasnt sure how they were getting into the field though, so I had to guess. We set up by their dust bowls. Well about 0830, we realized that where we set up,was where they were coming in at. It sounds like these things are about to walk right over me. They are gobbling and clucking at every call we send out. Then all of a sudden, everything is DEAD SILENT. We didnt spook them, but they must have known something was up, cause they just dissapeared. These things were so close behind me, I REALLY thought that one was going to walk right over me. Well the bad thing is that I cant get out there again till monday morning, I just hope somebody doesnt get there before me and mess up all my hard work figuring these birds out.

How were you set up? I like to find a crest with a couple fallen trees.I try tosit on a root ballso I cansee them before they see you. Also I try to get near theone gobblingas much as possible then find a"high" spot to sit down for him to close the"short" distance. But take this info for what its worth I have only taken two!
