Default Day 12, he walks away.

Have to back up to yesterday afternoon. I went and sat in the blind I put upover looking a small pond of water. I saw a gobbleractually chasing a hen while he was in full strut. They was about 80 yds out and didn't see them again. This was at 7:20 p.m., at 7:50 I heard two birds fly up to roost in the same area.

So this morning I set up about 100 yds from them.Hegobbled at7:10 &7:15, then heard him fly down and heard the hen clucking. History repeats itself again, they went north and I never heard them again.

Time for either a mid day hunt or the fighting purrs...
You mentioned blind...you mean like a tent blind???
I know they work on tv, but I'd have to give a go without it, turkeys aren't like deer...they aren't suspicious...
Maybe thats the last hen...before he comes looking...

Well as I PM'd ya ...don't forget about trying to get that hen to talk to you. Ignore the Tom.

If she does the key to getting her mad is to match her note for note.

I relate it too my marriage! My wife always gets the last word in any argument....just better to live that way......

Now think about guys and gals! If you tried to cut your wife off in mid-sentence during an argument and ya did louder each time and ya did it a few times ...where do you think her temper would be! Ya got it - chsin' my butt with a rolling pin or frying pan to whack me a good one!

Well do the same thing with the Boss Hen but don't let her win.

If I can get the hen to Yelp - just once - I key in on that. I immediatley Yelp back ...maybe just once or maybe 2 or 3 times and I stop abruptly.....If she answers me I try to match her tone to my tone.
I then immediatley asnwer her trying to cut her off in Mid-sentnece....Then if she stops I stop - If she starts, I start only a bit louder this time.....if she cutts I cutt ----if she triple yelps, I triple yelp but stop each time as close to her stopping.......about the third time from my experience all heck will break loose and she will just start bad mouthing me and here she comes.......I stop at that point and get my gun up....as she is oming to whoop my butt! AND GUESS WHAT FOLLOWS HER!!!

I have done this just about the last 7 birds I have killed. Works great!

Had one where the hen came to about 6 feet from where I was sitting and stopped dead silent. Yes the hen had me pinned and I knew I could move....let alone breath! The Tom tayed back about 20 yards in thick woods paralelling from left to right in front of me. He was in strut and was just about to enter a small opening in the woods int he direction he was walking and struttingto where I had a great shot. But the hen had me pinned and I knew that if I moved she would putt! Sooooooo...I waited for him to hit that opening as he was still in strutt....I moved my gun to get on him in one slow even motion....the hen Putted......the Tom stopped and came out of strutt to see what the problem was......and Booommmooo....Down he went! Now that is where knowing what birds will do and how they react can help you hunt!!

So do try to pick on Da Mrs..turkey.....get her to answer you.....and if she does....DON"T EVER LET A HEN HAVE THE LAST WORD IN YOUR ARGUMENT!

hehe

Yes dear be right there....No dear I am not on a porn site...geesh...how many times do I gotta tell ya that......yes dear I am talking turkeys......I know dear you don't understand.......sorry dear I'll get the garbage out pronto....See ya ....I gotta go[:-]Think I'll run the garbage out and go next door for a beer! hehe
