Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

Default Great way to end the season here

Yesterday I had a last minute clients. A father and 14year old son team. We got into the woods and to a new setup and sat for the afternoon. The young fellow asked about how to call birds and so I showed him how to use the Friction pot calls and A box call. I explained that in the afternoon you do not want to be aggressive , but reather suttle and just do soft yelps and clucks and a little purring. The young fellow tried and did quite well, so I let him carry on for the rest of the afternoon calling along with me.
At 5:40 I noticed movement out behind a Palmetto tree only 40 yards out and around the tree comes a jake. The bird noticed one of us and watched closely towards are blind. I Purred very softly and the bird started towards us and then another one walked out from the right as well. I whispered to the yound lad to get his gun up once the birds walk behind a palmette. As the birds disapeared the boy lifted up the gun and the father followed. The birds walked out and staopped at 30 yards and the young guy shot at the one and down he went. The other bird ran to the right and stopped and the father ripped a shot and down he went. A double header for the end of the season. What a great way to end this season.
I will try and post some of the pic's when I return home.
well ya don't have to read anymore posts from me for a few weeks.
