what constriction is the ulti full choke on a mossberg 835 ultimag

I patterned it the other day and i was not impressed. I was looking for loke .665 or .670 and i cant find it for this gun. if anyone can help it would be great thanks

The constriction on the factory Ultifull is 695. The reason you cant find tubes that tight for this gun are because they dont make them. The 835 is not like any other 12 gauge. The end of the barrel (last 5 inches or so) is over bored. If you look it is actually bell shaped. The end of the barrel is the same width as a 10 gauge. Mossberg did this to help it pattern good. My wife has an 835and she shoots that same choke with Winchester Supreme 3.5" No. 5's. It patterns great. Try some different shells. Also, those tubes are for lead only, so dont shoot Hevishot. Good luck.

Comp-N-Choke make an .670 choke but it onlyshoot lead shot. .670 is the tights choke you'll find for 835, if do go with the .670 try shoot Win HV #6. Work great out of my 835

I have a Carlson .675 ported tube for my 835 that shoots very well,but the porting really snags the wad so Federal's Flight Control wad shells probably wouldent be any different then regular wad shells.

Since I got my 870 SPS-T supermag I haven't been using my 835.
I had some lightfield deer slugs stick in the 835 deer barrel a few years ago but no shotshells

I have an article from a Turkey magazine that is about patterning a shotgun and in the article the guy uses a 935. Anyway his best pattern with Winchester XR 5 shot was with a 680 kick's or a comp-n-choke. Both chokes are made by comp-n-choke.

Yep I agree, I miced mine the other day (found it in theback of my gunsafe) and it was .695. But it is NOTHING like the .695 Rhino I hunt with. As for getting under .680 with a 835, be careful. The 835/935 are built with 10ga backbores (Redneck Bill that is why your slugs stuck, you must not have read the "NOT FOR USE WITH SLUGS" warning on the barrel of your 835?) and are THE finest turkey guns on the market if loaded to maximize the payload ability.

I have a Supermag 870 as well and was shooting Nitro in it until I toured Nitro Ray's "shop" a couple years ago in MO. He found out I had an old 835 sittin in the closet and convinced me to dig it out, shoot the Nitro/Rhino combination and needless to say my 870 is now a backup only gun! Sure the 835/935 won't show you what it is made of if you stick simple 3.5" loads in it just like you would anyother 3.5" gun. But if you try some ammo specifically built for it, you will see an incredible machine once you pass the 60yd mark!!!

What shell were you trying swanz?My friend get's super results from his 835 with 3.5" Win HV #4's,and a Star-dot choke.I also know another guy that gets equally impressive results from his 835 with the same shell,and a kick's .685 choke.
