Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

Default RE: Question About Kick's Chokes

That is a pretty expensive choke... I don't think I would be shooting Hevi Shot threw itI would buy another choke just for Hevi Shot...

ditto it's better to be safe than sorry...

is that choke for a 12ge remington??? if you get a hevi shot choke i may take that kicks off of your hands. i've heard of many people that like them.

Default RE: Question About Kick's Chokes

I got one the other week and they said not to shoot heavi shot, but the winchester extended range are supposed to be ok. I patterned it in my remington and it shot great...the best pattern at 40 yards was with the 3 1/2, 2 oz. #6 winchester ext. range. It is one hell of a choke

A lot of people do it, esp with the NITRO hevi-shot.

But like stated. There are just too many chokes out there for hevi-shot.

If I were you I would try the Winchester XR's. Like sated above they are softer than hevi-shot and can be shot through chokes not rated for hevi. And it patterns great.

I have the .655 in my supermag and use Win HV #6s. Excellent pattern IMO. I always used #5's in the past, I still got a good pattern with the 5's, but the 6's were much better.

Kicks chokes needs to get off their butts and make some choke tubes that are compatible with Hevi-Shot, because it is here to stay.
