Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

Default 31/2 inch + .655 choke to tight?

do you think a 31/2 inch shell shooting through a .655 constriction is over choking it ? thanks

I'm going tohazard a guessthat it probably is too tight for a 3.5" shell. That's a tight fit for a large load. If you shot 2 3/4" or 3" #6's through the same gun, it might work ok.

I think 0.655 is too tight for any of today's turkey loads, regardless of shell length.

About the minimum I would go is 0.670...especially if you're considering using composite (non-lead) shot loads.

Depends on what gun you have and what load you are wanting to try. If you stick with quality lead loads, then they might work ok in a .655". I would recommend you stay with 6s from that tube. With Hevi-Shot, Win Extnd, Nitro etc you don't want to go below .660-.670 in most 3.5"ers. The only way to know is to simply try it but like I said, stick with lead in that much constriction.

Good luck,
RA
