Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

Default Turkey gun Questions

I just recently bought a Mossberg Maverick field 88. It is a 12 guage with a 28" barrel. It says accu-choke on it but not sure what exactly that means. Any help on that would be appreciated and does any one know if this would be a good turkey gun? Thanks.

Default RE: Turkey gun Questions

That should make a good turkey gun. I believe that is just a 3 inch gun but you shouldn't need anything more. The AccuChoke is just mossbergs "brand" name for their chokes. The 88, 500, 535's take AccuChokes, while the 835, 935's take Ultimag chokes. What you should do is go buy a X-full turkey choke that will fit the Accuchoke guns stated above and take out the choke you have in your gun and put this one in. Then go out and pattern it. It should make anice turkey gun though.

I agree with jepco. I have a Mossberg 500 and use their x-full turkey choke and it shoots awesome.
