I went scouting at one of many spots i have to hunt in arkansas...i scouted in el paso for about 4 hours. I called and called but none gobbled. They are not ready to gobble yet. Didnt see any turkeys either, but i found their tracks and some feathers around the area im huntin in. It usually a great strut zone every year for big toms. Last year two big ones were roostin in there and i never got a shot at them. I saw them a few times, but never got a shot. Also, i thought this was kinda weird..i find a fresh scrape and many rubs that looked fairly fresh..but what is a buck doin makin a scrape in march..there was fresh tracks in it and everything. Then i looked to my right and found a nice 8 point shed. I wasnt too bad of a trip, just kinda confused about the scrape. Im headin to my huge deer camp in the ozarks this weekend to scout their. Cant wait..i love bein in the woods and there is a lot of turkeys on this camp. I have 9000 acres to scout, and i have untinl april 8 to do so..thats not countin the other couple of places i have in arkansas to hunt...but im concentrating on my camp in the ozarks because thats where i will mainly be huntin.
