Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

Default Question on Scoring Spurs...

Okay, I think I may have shortchanged myself last year when scoring my bird. I looked at a site with a pic of how to score spurs, and I think I measured mine wrong. I saved the legs of the darn thing, and I'm not sure the left from the right, lol. Anyway, when you measure the spur on one side, it is 7/8 ". When you measure the other side of the same spur, its slightly over 1". How exactly do you guys measure spurs? The long side, shorter side, down the middle? I'd hate to short change myself if I have JW imortalize the spur length on a wingbone call!

Default RE: Question on Scoring Spurs...

Dood!

here use this as it is NWTF method!

Next, measure each spur. Spurs must be measured along the outside center, from the point at which the spur protrudes from the scaled leg skin to the tip of the spur. Add the two spur measurements, and multiply the combined length of the spurs by 10; the product is the number of points you receive for the turkey's spurs.

use this web-site

for mor infor

and the NWTF calculator!
