Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

Default Looking for a good March turkey hunt. Suggestions?

I'd like to take a trip for a hunt in March before the Arkansas & Missouri seasons start. I know that pretty much limits me to a few states but was wondering if anyone had any suggestions (public or pay) at this late date.... Thanks!

Probably be stuck with FL. Guided hunts there are $$$, only state with Osceolas. Where do you hunt in AR and MO? I grew up in Helena, AR and now live in Springfield, MO. I may try to hunt around Bull Shoals Lake this year or go down around Helena on some land a friend owns. He says they are starting to get a fair # of turkeys, but they didn't have many when I lived there 12 years ago.

My wife might get a little upset if I headed to the islands to go hunting instead of vacationing! I guess Mississippi, Alabama & Mexicoare probably the only real alternatives. I don't really want to go the Mexico because of the air travel, heat, snakes & cactus...(Had plenty of that on hunts to West Texas) so that basically leaves Miss & Ala.
I think I hunted on the Homochito (or something) Forrest in Mississippi near Nachez several years ago....but would rather find some private ground if possible.

Widow Maker,

I hunt turkey hunt all around Arkansas but mostly in the Ozarks & down South at out deer camp. In Missouri, I have a lease near Gainesville which is just North of Mountain Home, AR.

I duck hunt in Phillips County about an hour South of Helena, near Mellwood, AR. We have seen a few more turkeys over there in recent years but our gound floods regularly during the spring making it hard to hunt & hurting the hatches....

That's crazy! Iused to deer hunt right across from Mellwood at Jackson Point Hunting Club and duck hunt around Elaine and Marvell. I was through Gainesville and Mountain Home just yesterday! I'm in the commercial glass business and we are doing a bank job in M.H. I have also deer hunted on a lease in Gainesville a few years back.

Yeah, I know Lance pretty well. Big turkey hunter too. My name is Justin McMillan but you guys were out of college before I started. I'm 25 and have been out almost 4 years. I sure miss all the time I skipped class to hunt. Can't do that with work. If you need some contacts or places to hunt in OK or KS just let me know. I'm going to SD to try to kill a merriams this year. Drop me a line if you want to get together somewhere and chase a longbeard.
