Definately.I usually lose 15-20 lbs.I start at daylight, and don't stop until I get a bird or around 3pm when I finally give out.I drink water, and may eat a pack of crackers, but generally do not stop to eat.I do alot of walking, and biking.
Yes I did last season but it was in part because it was intentional....good hiking, up before breakfast etc....very enjoyable exercise.
I agree with Rob. With the winter weather finally gone, the urge to walk the hill tops in search of gobblers is at a all time high during the spring turkey season. I think we all loose some weight and sleep during this time of the year!!
last year took a toll on my......physically and mentally....i was obsessed with ONE particulary boss tom...first day i didnt hunt him...didnt know about him till later that week...once i heard about him i started scouting/looking for him...the land isnt hugeso patterning should be easy right?? wrong....once i spotted him i wanted HIM and only HIM...i was working 2 jobs mostly 6 days a week...plus my senior year of highschool...id wake up 4-430 am...get set up 20-30 mins before sound off.....and hunt him until 730....goto school till 1130..usually didnt eat lunch..i was doing homework or studying! lol.....i was let off school to work...work job 1 from 12-5..then usually job 2 from 530-1130ish...a FEW lucky days i didnt work both jobs..thats when id sleep lol...4hrs of sleep every nite....chasin that bird every day...going to school in wet camos and muddy boots......barely ever eating....barely ever sleeping...i had many close encounters with that big ole bosstom...never did tag him...last day a storm rolled in....i smiled..walked to my truck...went home and passed out with a hugggggge smile on my face...what a great season it was! learned SOOOO much...made my own decisions...did what it took...AND paid the truck off and graduated with HONORS!...the last quarter didnt mean much to my grades...i was already passing everything...and kept passing...that ole bird just never stuck to a pattern and never did the same thing twice...drove me nuts...
